10 years of jenID Solutions – a success story
jenID Solutions GmbH was founded ten years ago. But how did our journey begin?
The founding idea came about through the collaboration of two colleagues, Michael Weisbach and Kay Bönicke. At the time, they were working as product managers and software developers at Cross Match Technologies GmbH. There they developed solutions for verifying ID documents that were specially designed for police and border controls. The two saw the potential to further develop this technology for other target markets. Together with Thomas Winter, who took over the commercial and sales area, they finally founded jenID Solutions in 2014.
Our highlights of the last ten years:
2015: The starting signal for our first product – Genuine-ID was successfully launched.
2016: Secunet Security Networks AG became our first customer and has been using Genuine-ID for the Dutch police ever since.
2018: jenID was recognized by Forbes as one of the “One Hundred Most Innovative Startups in Germany”.
2019: We won 2nd place in the “Fast Starters” category of the Thuringian start-up prize “ThEx Award”
2021/2022: The relaunch of our solution was an important milestone. Since then, we have no longer been working with ready-made products, but with integrators to flexibly integrate Genuine-ID into a wide range of processes – whether in the banking industry, in the rental sector, for age verification, for examination authorizations or border controls.
Looking to the future
We want to continue to grow and establish Genuine-ID as a standard solution in industries where the verification of ID documents is required. Whether in the financial sector, rental providers or the public sector – we see enormous potential for our product and aim to be present in all these areas.
We would like to take our anniversary as an opportunity to thank our companions, investors, partners and friends. Without them, the wonderful team in the photo above would not exist.
