Review and outlook: jenID driving the development of AI-based verification solutions

You haven’t heard from us for a while, but this doesn’t mean that we’ve come to a standstill. On the contrary: We’ve been working very hard behind the scenes, continually developing our ID document verification platform.

Right from the beginning, we’ve been using state-of-the-art AI technologies in our verification solutions. One of our special highlights is in fact the successful enhancement of our latest deep-learning AI models for the active recognition of living individuals, using facial recognition via a camera. This has added considerable smoothness and speed to the recording process – an improvement that has been confirmed by users in numerous tests.

Deep learning technologies are also applied in the latest feature of our verification solution jenID, which recognises the recording of copies and changes within documents. So we are setting new standards for authenticity checks. These technical developments have already been verified with partners and existing customers in the market.

Many of our customers were directly affected by the Covid-19 crisis, and the pandemic also made it hard for us to move ahead with our own developments at the desired speed. We are therefore all the more pleased that we’ve been able to strengthen business relationships with our current partners and that our business is now clearly picking up speed. We are working together on specially tailored solutions for end customers and focusing on customer acquisition.

We’ve also set some clear goals for our products in 2022. They include the further rollout of our deep-learning technologies and the inclusion of video recordings in the verification process. The aim is to continue our compliance with EU regulations for identity verification procedures.
